The Evil Act of EVE TEASING
Over the past few years, our country has spiked in the cases of eve teasing by 37%. Although stricter law enforcement rules have been applied. They seem to display no visible effect. Eve Teasing not only consists of harassing but also can be done verbally. The rise in these cases stem from superiority complex in men of India and deeming the opposite sex as objects which is very disheartening. The rise of Eve Teasing Acts not only affects the victim but also vastly affects the structure of society and these days, many-a-times, the act of eve-teasing gets completely ignored by the Individuals around it which in fact facilitates eve- teasing. Law Enforcement can be made even more harsh, but it can never be omnipresent. As disappointing as it sounds for a country, Eve teasing promotes even more deadly acts like committing murder in public with a knife, recently a woman in New Delhi was murdered in public by her husband just because she wanted to be a doctor and save lives. Not only does this showcase the terrible state of victims but also shows how ignorant society is becoming towards these acts.

What’s even more horrifying is that how her husband believed that “she deserved it”, even though she was going to do something beneficial for the society.
The above case continues to show how much a female victim of eve teasing suffers and why these acts should be dismantled and burned away for the greater good. Our main focus for these vile acts to be removed is to stay less ignorant as an individual and spread awareness. As a part of modern age, these acts should never be condoned by anyone. Providing proper education to Children and growing them up in a healthy environment can prevent this happening in the future. Teaching people to be Physically Fit and Healthy and making a healthy lifestyle can also reduce these cases by heavy margin as being physically strong allows one to have high self esteem. Abolishing Old age concepts of gender stereotypes would be of great help, as they provide nothing but suffering of an individual in the name of riti-riwaz(Traditions and Culture). Lastly, being aware of human rights is everyone’s must- go-to- knowledge as this allows us to have a clear view of our law enforcement and how we can use it to punish the devils in our society.
Taking care of public mental health can also be of a huge assistance and can lower the Crime rate far more effectively than any other method.
